Know The Team
Andrew Arges, Owner
Andrew Arges entered the masonry field straight out of high school, and has been doing residential masonry repair and restoration since 2005. Recently, in the last few years, he has also worked on commercial properties, home additions, and new construction. While excelling primarily at brick related jobs Andrew is also proficient in other fields of masonry such as stone and concrete pouring, and he is quite knowledgeable when it comes to old foundations.
Andrew is the proud father of two young children who he hopes will one day, too, show interest in the trade.
Alex Basset, Owner
Alex Basset went to Carleton University with the ambition of becoming a police officer. During the summer of 2005 a friend introduced him to masonry and a new initiative was born. Masonry would become his full time career. Since then, he has honed his skills in the trade, amassing a wealth of knowledge to diagnose and fix an abundance of masonry problems in and around the city of Ottawa.
Adam Jensen, Estimator
Adam Jensen has worked in the construction industry since 2009. First, as a carpenter, building custom homes in and around the Ottawa area, and then as a mason, working with Alex and Andrew at Cornerstone Brickworks.
In 2011, Adam enrolled in the Architecture Technician program at Algonquin College, graduating with Honours in 2013. Since graduating, Adam continues to work with Cornerstone Brickworks as an estimator and consultant, while starting up his own residential design firm, Jensen Design Services.
Eric Vandenburg, Crew Leader
Eric Vandenburg has been with Cornerstone Brickworks since 2013. Before beginning his career in the masonry trade, Eric worked in landscaping, specializing in interlock paths and retaining walls.
Eric consistently brings his energetic, friendly attitude to the job site day in and day out. This, together with his ability to effectively manage the job site, makes him a great addition to the Cornerstone Team.
